Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Assist. Prof. Bilge Şan Özbilen in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, served on the Local Organizing Committee of the 32nd International Congress on Sound and Vibration (ICSV32), jointly organized by the Turkish Acoustical Society and the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), held between 5–10 July 2026.As part of the congress, Dr. Bilge Şan Özbilen also coordinated the Acoustics and Vibration Academy (AVA), an educational program organized within the framework of ICSV32.

As part of the Architectural Simulation course, a pCon.planner Certified Training Program will be organized for our students, moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Aslıhan COŞKUN. The training covers the basic and practical use of pCon.planner software, which is widely used in interior design and 3D modeling processes. The training will be given online by Interior Architect/Training Specialist Hazel ÇAĞLAR."

Within the scope of the course "İÇM0905 Kitchen and Bathroom Design", conducted by Assist. Prof. Maryam SOLEIMANI in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, a technical visit organized to the Creavit showroom was held on April 10, 2026.
 

Assist. Prof. Bilge Şan Özbilen, from our Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, delivered a seminar on “ Room Acoustics” to the Acıbadem Project Management Design Team in cooperation with the technology Transfer Office  on March 4, 2026

Within the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, as part of the course ICM0921 – Project Development and Feasibility conducted by Lecturer Dr. Uğur Kaya, a seminar titled “What Will Be Your Role in the Digitalized Construction Site? BIM and Interdisciplinary Coordination in Metro Projects” was delivered by Mustafa Murteza, Civil Engineer and Project Manager at Emay International Engineering and Consultancy Inc., on October 31, 2025, at the Önder Öztunalı Seminar Hall.

Within the scope of the course “IAD5045 – Lighting,” conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bilge Şan Özbilen from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English Program), a technical trip was organized on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, to the exhibition “Digital Experience Museum – Van Gogh: Chasing the Light” in order to experience the effect of light in space firsthand.
 

The book titled, "Spatial Analysis I: Spatial Dimensions in Design Thinking", edited by the faculty members of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Assist. Prof. Arzu Erçetin, Assist. Prof. Gamze Akbaş, and Yasemin Tuzlu Erol, has been published.

Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design 2024-2025 Academic Year Fall Semester Single Course Exams will be held on February 7, 2025 between 13.00-14.00 for IAD6046 ACOUSTICS course and between 13.00-16.30 for IAD4043 BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIAL II course in room 1A16.

Dr. Gamze Akbaş, one of our faculty members, delivered her presentation titled "Exhibition Stand Design" as part of the ICM0311-0412 Interior Design Studio 3-4 on Tuesday, September 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

As part of the ICM5051 Measured Drawing by Lecturer Elif Gelmez, students from our department organized a technical trip to the Historic Peninsula on Friday, September 27, 2024.
