Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design held the introductory meeting of the “Natural Stone Project Design Contest” online on Friday, May 7, 2021. At the promotional meeting of the competition organized by the Ege Mine Exporters Association; Reyhan Sezgin, one of the jury members, made a presentation about the competition and answered the questions of the students. 

Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design organized an e-panel titled "On Lighting" on Thursday, April 29th at 16.30, moderated by Prof. Dr. Rana Kutlu. NA Light Style Company Founding Architect Nergis Arifoğlu and LAB1 Lighting Design Founding Architect Faruk Uyan attended the panel where the concept of design was discussed from the perspective of lighting.

The guest of the "Spring Semester Seminar Series" organized by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in April was Graeme Brooker, the head of the Royal Collage of Art Department Interior Design, which is one of the internationally important schools and located in London. The seminar titled “50 Words for Reuse” was held on Tuesday, April 20, on Microsoft Teams.

The fourth of the seminar series organized within the scope of the "Exhibition and Exhibition Venues Design" course conducted by Asst. Prof. Handan Güzelci in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design was held at 09:00 on Monday, March 15 via CATs Meetings with the participation of Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Head of Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration Assoc. Prof. Nevra Ertürk.

The "Most Successful Project Exhibition and Awards" event, which has become a custom that is organized every semester by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, was held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, with the intense interest of our students through Microsoft Teams. We congratulate all our students who were deemed worthy of the selection and received awards in the event organized to create a constructive environment of competition and motivation among students in interior architecture project courses, and wish them continued success.

Assist. Prof. Derya Adıgüzel Özbek, one of our academicians in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, was the guest of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Architecture with her seminar titled "Urban Interior Practices".

Designer Ece Yalım was the first guest of the seminar series organized annually by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. Students showed great interest to the seminar, which was held on Tuesday, March 23 with the theme of "Human-Space-Object" via Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application. In the seminar, the relationship between human, space and object was explained through design.

The photography exhibition named "In Quarantine", which also includes the works of Asst. Prof. Aliye Rahşan Karabetça, one of our academicians in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, was opened to visitors online. In the exhibition, it is aimed to convey to the audience the mood of photographers and the quarantine process they have experienced in the home environment during the pandemic period we have been in since March 2020.

The team whose members are Merve Boğatekin, Merve Tonyalı, and Melisa Aytek, students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Istanbul Kültür University, won the first prize in the 12th National Furniture Competition Kitchen-Bathroom category. We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.

Within the scope of the "Corporate Identity and Branding in Interior Design" course conducted by Asst. Prof. Handan Güzelci in IKU Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, the seminar was hosted by Erdem Kiracı who is Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Corporate Communications Unit Manager, was held on Friday, March 12 at 13:00 on CATS Meetings.
