Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall hosted the award ceremony and colloquium of the "MEKAN2021 National Graduation Projects for Interior Architecture Students", which was organized for the 8th time this year by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 15.00.

At the ceremony where our Rector our Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu and our Head of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta made the opening speeches, awards were presented to the winners.

As part of the "Building Knowledge and Materials I" course given in the Turkish Program of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, a technical visit was organized to the Marriott Hotel construction site in Karaköy on Thursday, December 2nd. In the technical trip, which was carried out in accordance with the content of the course, conducted by Assist. Prof. Aliye Rahşan Karabetça and Res. Assist. Armağan Gülhaş, the students experienced the construction site environment by seeing the variety of construction and manufacturing methods and materials.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design has chosen the student representatives for the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

ENGLISH PROGRAM

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design hosted Master Architect Kadir Uyanık, one of the Founders of Do[x] Architecture, at our university as part of the "Fall Semester Seminar Series". In the event held on Wednesday, November 24 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall, Uyanık Museum, which made a presentation on the "Story of the Three Museums", shared information about the design and implementation processes of Gazhane, IMM and SCAM museums with the students.

The "Most Successful Project Exhibition and Awards" event, traditionally organized by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, was held face-to-face after a long break. The event, which was held in order to create a constructive competition environment and provide motivation among the students in interior design project courses, was hosted by the 1st floor exhibition hall in Ataköy campus on Tuesday, November 26, 2021. We congratulate all our students who were deemed worthy of the selection and received awards and wish them continued success.

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design brought Architect Efe Korkut Kurt together with the students as part of the "Basic Design" courses led by Assist. Prof. Derya Adıgüzel Özbek and Assoc. Prof. Reyhan Uludağ and the "Basic Design" courses led by Lecturer Meltem Çetinel. Kurt's seminar titled "Thinking Architectural Space Through Installation Art" was held on 3-4 November 2021.

Within the scope of the Basic Design course of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, a seminar titled “Thinking Architectural Space Through Installation Art” will be held by Architect Efe Korkut Kurt.

All our students are invited to the online seminar that will be on the Cats meeting platform on 04.11.2021.

As a result of the jury evaluation, Enes Yerekonmaz from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design was awarded the "Honorable Mention" and Zeynep Çiftçioğlu the "Jury Incentive" award. We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.

Organized for the eighth time by the Istanbul Kültür University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, the "Mekan2021 / Interior Architecture Students National Graduation Projects Competition" aims to present themselves and their design philosophies to young interior architect candidates through graduation / diploma projects that are the threshold between the education process and transition to professional formation. It is an open call in terms of promotion.

“2021-2022 Academic Year Orientation Meeting” was held on Monday, September 13, by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design.
