SHE WILL DRAW ‘LIFE WITHOUT OBSTACLES’

Zeynep Nida Bulut, a student of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Istanbul Kültür University, has wanted to become an architect since childhood. However, she had to postpone her dream due to a traffic accident she had 4 years ago during the gap semester of the first grade. Zeynep, who had to continue living her life with the aid of a wheelchair due to a broken spine, returned to her school with a decision she made last year.

ASSIST. PROF. DR. BİLGE ŞAN ÖZBİLEN GAVE LECTURES UNDER THE D2 BUILDING ACOUSTICS MEASUREMENTS CERTIFICATE TRAINING

Assist. Prof. Dr. Bilge Şan Özbilen from the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, gave a lecture on "Acoustic Laboratories, Laboratory Measurements and Used Standards" at Kadir Has University Cibali Campus as part of the D2 Building Acoustics Measurements Certificate Training conducted by the Turkish Acoustic Association (TAKDER). In addition to the lecture, Assist. Prof. Dr. Bilge Şan Özbilen guided the tour of the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) Acoustic Laboratories in Gebze at the end of the lecture held on Friday, June 24, 2022.

“ICMEK 5TH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE EDUCATION”

In cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and Karadeniz Technical University Department of Interior Architecture, the “5th ICMEK International Congress on Interior Architecture Education” was held online on June 16-17, 2022. At the congress, which was held with the theme of “Rethinking”, by opening the current state of Interior Architecture education for a discussion, new dynamics, and projections for the future were shared and answers were sought.

"NATURAL STONE" SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP

Within the scope of "İÇM-IAD4043 Building Construction and Material II" courses given at the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design; on 27-28 April 2022, first a seminar and then a workshop on natural stone material were held with the company "Sra Stone Gallery". Surprise gifts were also given at the event as a result of the drawing and voting of the workshops.

FATİH MUNICIPALITY IKU ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN STUDIES

Assist. Prof. Dr. Vehbi Tosun and the students of the "Environmental Design" course started the registration and inventory work on Büyük Karaman Street within the scope of the street façade arrangements to be made in cooperation with the Istanbul Kültür University Department of Interior Architecture and Fatih Municipality. Büyük Karaman Street, which ends at Fatih Mosque, looks like an open architectural museum with its structures in different styles from different periods.

ASSIST. PROF VEHBİ TOSUN AND OUR STUDENTS GATHERED WITH KAĞAN MEHMET USTA, MAYOR OF İZNİK

Assist. Prof. Mehmet Tosun, one of the academicians from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, our students Berk Bensol, Murat Sain from the undergraduate program and Ayşenur Kandemir from the graduate program, gathered with Kağan Mehmet Usta, Mayor of İznik in order to evaluate the last works of the İznik Konak Bazaar Restoration. In the scope of the project, which is expected to be realized soon, while 3 streets will be enclosed with a steel roof, it is planned to harmonize the frontispieces of İznik Bazaar, which is consist of four blocks, with its history.

DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN FATİH REGION FIELD TRIP

Within the scope of "İÇM0511-0612 Interior Architecture Project V-VI" and "IAD0511-0612 Interior Design Studio V-VI" courses given in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design; A field trip to the Fatih region was held with 3rd year Turkish and English Program students, led by Prof. Dr. Rana Kutlu, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Usta, Asst. Prof. Vehbi Tosun, Lecturer Yasin Altıpat, Lecturer Tuğçe Rizeli Bilgi, Res. Asst. Furkan Evliyaoğlu and Res. Asst. Kadir Yesir.
