Mission of the Department

Interior Architecture education is considered as a common discipline enhanced by Architecture, Art and Design. The İstanbul Kültür University Interior Architecture and Environmental Design programs are carried out with a contemporary approach that integrates the application and theory of both fields.

The mission of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is to train interior architects and environmental designers who will contribute to the fields of art and design with original creations, who know the needs and demands of the era, find economic and contemporary solutions to the problems of space-human-equipment, have investigative personalities, can put artistic and intellectual dimensions into practice and compete in national and international platforms. 

In this context, strengthening the national and international recognition and relations, encouraging studies to increase the motivation of students to realize this goal, and structuring the undergraduate program in a way that it can cooperate with different disciplines are among the educational objectives of the Department. The education profile in this framework is “learning to learn” as opposed to “learning the information”.

Vision of the Department 

The vision of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, which adopts a student-centered education model that encourages “learning to learn” instead of “learning the information” is as follows:
